  • In 2020 our members voted to allocated the Award so that all 3 nonprofits presenting receive a portion. The allocation policy is as follows:

Main Award: 50% of the total giving circle donation for the quarter

Each Runner Up: 25% of the total giving circle donation for the quarter

  • Once the member payments are reconciled with our member list, we will submit a payment request to the DCCF to process and mail the donation checks to the nonprofits. We work to do this as quickly as practical with our volunteer staff, sending the bulk of the donation quickly. Final reconciliation and last check to the nonprofit may take 4-6 weeks. Members can help us speed up this process by giving prior to the meeting.

  • Yes. You will receive a tax receipt from the DCCF for your donations. If you have not received your tax receipt within a reasonable amount of time, please contact the DCCF directly.

Door County Community Foundation

  • 100+WWC is an independent charitable corporation that uses a Donor Advised Fund at the Door County Community Foundation to facilitate its giving. This arrangement allows 100+WWC to pay with credit card if they would like in addition to giving members the option to pay for multiple meetings in advance, set up automatic recurring credit card payments, and enables us to send one award check to the nonprofits rather than adding to their administrative burden the processing each of our member’s checks.

Nonprofits

  • Once you join our chapter you may nominate a nonprofit. For more information, please see our Nonprofits section.

  • No. Many women like to just show up and give. While all members have the opportunity to nominate a nonprofit, it is not a requirement of membership.

  • Please review our Nonprofits section for eligibility requirements.

  • The most common type of tax-exempt nonprofit organization falls under category 501(c)(3), whereby a nonprofit organization is exempt from federal income tax if its activities have the following purposes: charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering amateur sports competition, or preventing cruelty to children or animals. For more information please visit the IRS website.

For the purposes of the 100+ Women Who Care Door County, all charitable organizations up for consideration must serve Northern Door, Washington Island, or Sturgeon Bay as a part of their mission. The goal is for our members to see the impact their contributions make for our local community.  A local project associated with a national nonprofit may be considered if 100% of the donated funds stay in our local community.

  • No, a nonprofit may only be nominated by a member.

If a 100+WWC member has an affiliation with a nonprofit, i.e. they are an officer, board member, employee or volunteer, they are allowed to nominate that nonprofit.

  • Sorry, your commitment to the 100+WWC must be submitted to 100+WWC. The goal of 100+ Women Who Care Door County is to make one BIG donation on behalf of each group within our chapter. To make a BIG impact, we want to give thousands of dollars at the end of each group meeting. The only way to do that is to make each member’s donation part of the larger donation. This is the power of being a member. We also need to be able to track your donations so you get credit for the donation and remain in good standing. Only members in good standing can nominate and vote. The nonprofits benefit from one big check with lower administration effort.

  • Certainly! If you would like to contribute more for a particular meeting, we will happily make sure the nonprofits receive your donation.

  • The short answer is no for individuals. The commitment you make as a member is to donate $100 per quarter. However, we do accept teams of two (2) who agree to split the $100 donation each quarter. Please keep in mind that teams only get one (1) vote and one (1) active nomination per team.  If you would like to become a member either as an individual or a team, please visit the Join Us section and then complete our Membership & Commitment Forms.

  • Yes! Take a look at our list of List of Nominated Nonprofits for links to each of their websites. Each nonprofit will have a list of ways you can help them carry out their mission.

  • The co-founders started off wanting to bring awareness to the needs in Northern Door County. As we have learned more about the nonprofits serving Door County we have found that many nonprofits based in Sturgeon Bay are servicing the whole county.

Our eligibility requirement for nomination is that the nonprofits must have as part of their mission that they serve Northern Door, Washington Island, or Sturgeon Bay Communities.

  • The process for determining the award amounts in the event of a tie for the Main Award is as follows:

Award - The sum of the Main Award plus one Runner Up award (75% of total awards for the event) will be split 50/50 between the nonprofit organizations that tie for the Main Award.

Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation (RSMFF) matching grant - If both of the tied nonprofit organizations meet the criteria to apply for the matching grant (match is 100% up to $5,000), then we will have a post meeting online ballot to determine which organization will have the opportunity to apply for the matching grant as we are only allowed to submit one organization per quarter.
